Essential Job Functions: | 1. Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates work activities of subordinates and staff, including hiring, coaching, evaluating, and terminating, all in accordance with University policies and procedures. 2. Prepares, updates, and ensures accuracy of information provided to students regarding examination application procedures, fees, sample questions, and administration. 3. Serves as assigned Institutional Test Administrator/Master Site Administrator for examinations received from outside institutions. 4. Assists in arrangements for test proctoring for NSU students at other institutions or other site locations. 5. Oversees use of Banner for obtaining student data and input of test scores. 6. Oversees the academic success coaching program. 7. Develops strategic outreach initiatives and established program objectives designed to support academic success within the undergraduate population. 8. Recruits, hires, schedules, supervises, trains, and evaluates tutors in proper procedures and effective tutoring techniques in compliance with CRLA certification. 9. Responsible for CRLA certification materials, applications, and credentialing of tutors and center. 10. Assists in the development and execution of marketing strategies with an emphasis on target students and at-risk students. 11. Assists in the development and execution of policies and procedures in response to student retention and student success efforts. 12. Fosters and maintains strong working and collaborative relationships with faculty and academic administrators. 13. Assists with departmental activities related to Shark Preview. 14. Completes special projects as assigned. 15. Performs other duties as assigned or required. |
Marginal Job Functions: | 1. Oversees transactions processed via online U-Pay system; ensures accuracy of funds deposited to Bursar's office. 2. Serves on college and University committees. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | KNOWLEDGE: 1. Basic knowledge of math, science, writing, education, psychology, or a related field. 2. Customer and Personal Service - Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction. 3. English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. 4. Education and Training - Thorough knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. 5. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). SKILLS: 1. Active Listening - Advanced skills in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. 2.
