Essential Job Functions: | 1. Provides primary athletic training services including injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, emergency management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, administrative duties, educational programs, and counseling for each assigned sport. 2. Provides on-site athletic training services for all assigned teams at the discretion of the Assistant Athletic Director, Sports Medicine. 3. Assists and manages pre-participation physical examinations (PPE) for all student-athletes of assigned sports, including screening for preexisting conditions, identifying risk factors for injury, and ensuring safe medical clearance for participation in intercollegiate competition. 4. Manages necessary athletic and non-athletic related illness and injury referrals to the NSU sports medicine department physicians or other qualified clinicians. 5. Manages necessary orthopedic rehabilitation referrals to the NSU physical therapist or other qualified clinicians. 6. Manages necessary referrals to the NSU sports medicine department's sports psychology and sports nutrition services. 7. Manages necessary referrals to off-site medical specialties including but not limited to orthopedics, dental, optometry, podiatry, neurology, gynecology, dermatology, radiology. 8. Manages and assists students with the following: a. Setting initial appointments. b. Transportation to appointments. c. Setting follow-up appointments. d. Setting necessary diagnostic testing appointments. e. Facilitation of custom orthoses & braces fabrication. 9. Consults with NSU strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety for assigned student-athletes during workouts to meet the individual needs of each student-athlete. 10. Applies taping, bracing, and immobilization techniques to prevent injury and/or re-injury. 11. Assures supplies and equipment for athletic training room and home events (i.e. game, practice, etc.). 12. Facilitates all health insurance related issues for assigned student-athletes. 13. Ensures and maintains the privacy of health-related information of all assigned student-athletes. 14. Maintains proper documentation (both paper and electronic) of all injury/illness evaluations and treatments; utilizes the injury tracking system to log daily evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitations. 15. Generates annual reports concerning injury trends or patterns to design programs and make recommendations to prevent future injury. 16. Performs other duties as assigned. |

May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, and computer keyboards. |

Required Certifications/Licensures: | 1. Athletic Training Florida State License, or ability to apply for Florida State License. 2. NATA certified. 3. CPR/AED for the Healthcare Provider certified. |

Required Experience: | Minimum of two (2) years of experience at the college or professional level. |
Preferred Qualifications: | Nationally recognized certifications in the following areas: 1. Manual therapy, or instrument-assisted, soft-tissue mobilization techniques. 2. Human movement screening and correction. 3. Strength & conditioning. 4. Emergency medicine. |
