Essential Job Functions: 1. Confers with management to implement personnel policies or procedures.
2. Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages and contracts, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits. 3. Contacts job applicants to inform them of the status of their applications.
4. Reviews employment applications and job orders to match applicants with job requirements. 5. Reviews and evaluates applicant qualifications or eligibility for specified licensing, according to established guidelines and designated licensing codes.
6. Selects qualified job applicants or refers them to managers, making hiring recommendations when appropriate.
7. Conducts reference or background checks on job applicants and vendors, and assists with employee drug screenings.
8. Conducts reference or background checks on job applicants.
9. Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
10. Monitors and corrects time and attendance records.
11. Prepares or maintains employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
12. Maintains and updates human resources documents, such as organizational charts, directories, or performance evaluation forms.
13. Provides management with information or training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques, or documentation of performance issues.
14. Maintains employee data integrity and confidentiality.
15. Completes special projects as assigned.
16. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Marginal Job Functions:  
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Clerical – General knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
2. Administration and Management – Working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and/or coordination of people and resources.
3. Personnel and Human Resources – Working knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and personnel information systems.
4. English Language – General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
5. Customer and Personal Service – Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.

1. Active Listening - Basic skills in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
2. Speaking - Basic skills in talking to others to convey information effectively.
3. Reading Comprehension - Basic understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
4. Writing - Basic skills in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
5. Coordination - Basic skills in adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
6. Judgment and Decision Making - Basic skills in considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the appropriate one.
7. Social Perceptiveness - Basic skills in being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
8. Active Learning - Basic skills in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
9. Monitoring - Basic skills in monitoring / assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

Abilities:
1. Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
2. Inductive Reasoning - The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
3. Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Physical Requirements:
1. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
2. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person. 3. Speech Clarity - Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you.
4. May be required to work nights or weekends.
Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures:  
Required Education: Highschool Diploma or equivalent
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: Highschool Diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in an office setting, preferably in human resources.

Associates degree or 60 credits earned and two (2) years of experience in an office setting, preferably in human resources.
