Essential Job Functions: 1. Participates in the planning and execution of Shark Preview, Convocation, and Commencement ceremonies.

2. Provides leadership and input for the special programs of the Office to create a seamless and integrated experience for students and parents.

3. Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises Graduate Assistants, student leaders, and other office student employees.

4. Develops and facilitates a comprehensive training program for the student leadership positions in the office.

5. Fosters a positive team dynamic among staff and student leaders.

6. Collaborates with campus partners and the University events calendar to determine dates to host Shark Preview, Convocation, and Commencement ceremonies.

7. Leads marketing and communication campaigns for Shark Preview, Convocation, and Commencement.

8. Liaisons with University social media chairs to market Shark Preview programs, Convocation, and Commencement, through official University channels.

9. Maintains a high level of customer service with prospective students and their families, student employees, faculty, and staff, including in-person, via email and phone.

10. Assists in the management and maintenance of the enrollment management database and Banner.

11. Stays current with trends and best practices for new student programs and student leader development.

12. Maintains accurate records of student attendance at special programs.

13. Assists with evaluation and assessment efforts related to Shark Preview, Convocation, Commencement, and other departmental initiatives; utilizes results for ongoing improvement.

14. Provides feedback and recommendations to management regarding recruiting strategies, customer service, communications, and/or recruitment programs.

15. Generates reports to ensure timely information is available for management use.

16. Attends meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops and serves on committees.

17. Drafts and edits student policies and procedures for approval by senior management.

18. Completes special projects as assigned.

19. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Customer and Personal Service - Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
2. English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
3. Administration and Management - Working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, leadership techniques, and/or coordination of people and resources.
4. Personnel and Human Resources – Working knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, and training.
5. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Abilities:

Physical Requirements and Working conditions:
1. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.

3. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
4. May be required to work nights or weekends.
5. Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
6. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
7. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, mobile devices, and computer keyboards.

Required Certifications/Licensures: Valid driver's license
Required Education: Bachelor'sDegree
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in large scale event planning and program development.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Master's Degree
2. Student services related experience in an education setting.
3. Experience in program development, execution, and assessment.
4. Previous experience supervising student employees and/or student leaders.
