Essential Job Functions: This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external-funding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced.

1. Contributes to the design of the total school curriculum and instructional program, providing organization, coordination, implementation and instruction for media/innovation services and technology.
2. Coordinates and collaborates to assess, plan and deliver coordinated services that meet the technology needs for the entire learning community.
3. Plans, administers and supervises the media/innovation program, developing policies for efficient operation and optimal service.
4. Provides an ongoing evaluation of the library media/technology programs and modifies programs as needed.
5. Administers the media center budget along the guidelines of the director; keeps records of all expenditures.
6. Establishes annual and long-range goals correlated to the university and school plans.
7. Inventories the media resources annually, evaluates the collection, weeds out obsolete and worn materials, and updates the catalog and inventory records.
8. Provides formal and informal instruction in innovation information literacy skills, and the use of information and instructional technologies.
9. Promotes information regarding new material and provides staff development in and models the use of instructional resources and new information technologies.
10. Provides students access and opportunities for discovery and exploration of media/innovation resources independent of or beyond the stated curriculum.
11. Provides leadership and expertise in acquiring and evaluating information resources in all formats.
12. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Marginal Job Functions: Demonstrates commitment to implement a humanistic philosophy in working with students.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to build and manage collections that include diverse formats; plan, implement and administer a media/innovation program; design, conduct and evaluate learning activities that teach information literacy, innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, and research skills.
2. Expertise in information resources, library management systems, current and emerging instructional technologies and knowledge of current educational trends and teaching practices.
3. Must be able to move equipment and materials on carts and stand and speak for prolonged periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications: Florida Certification as a Media Specialist.
