Essential Job Functions: 1. Assists in functional behavioral assessments which includes interviews and parent-run and therapist-run analog functional analyses.

2. Assists in preference assessment using both indirect and direct methodologies.

3. Assists in providing direct observations and data collection during patient sessions.

4. Contributes to the development of function-based interventions to increase pro-social alternative behavior and reduce problem behavior in collaboration with the clinical team.

5. Assists in evaluating the effectiveness of interventions with single-case designs.

6. Assists in training parents/care providers in implementing treatment protocols.

7. Maintains training in NSU compliance regulations and mandatory health and safety practices.

8. Participates in various scholarly activities including clinical research and presentations at professional conferences.

9. Maintains all patient charts and records in accordance with NSU compliance policies.

10. Works with licensed providers to provide information to third party payors in a timely manner.

11. Regularly attends peer review meetings and presents patients in his/her caseload.

12. Communicates with patients’ parents, guardian, and school representatives and documents all communications.

13. Completes other projects as assigned.

14. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook; data entry skills; internet research abilities.
2. Knowledge of office practices and procedures (e.g., filing, answering telephones, and supply/equipment ordering).

1. Active Listening - Basic skills in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
2. Critical Thinking - Proficient skills in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
3. Mathematics - Basic skills in using mathematics to solve problems.
4. Speaking - Basic skills in talking to others to convey information effectively.
5. Judgment and Decision Making - Basic skills in considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the appropriate one.
6. Writing - Basic skills in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Abilities:
1. Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
2. Inductive Reasoning - The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
3. Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy.
4. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
5. Ability to maintain confidential information.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
1. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
2. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.
3. Speech Clarity - Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you.
4. May be required to work nights or weekends.
5. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
6. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, mobile devices, and computer keyboards.
Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures: Certification as Registered Behavior Technician or acquired within three (3) months of hire date.
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years clinical experience working with children with behavioral challenges.

-OR-

Associate’s degree in Psychology or ESE Discipline, and one (1) year clinical experience working with children with behavioral challenges.
