Essential Job Functions: This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external-funding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced.

1. Designs curriculum for Media Production classes and and provides daily instruction to students in the Media Production program for grades 6-12.
2. Records and maintains school, classroom, and student information such as attendance, student files, referral information, progress reports, lesson plans, curriculum development, etc.
3. Prepares daily and weekly lesson plans in a manner that is responsive to the school's philosophy, and in team or grade level planning.
4. Manages the planning, development and implementation of Media Productions program, including curriculum, student television network, and event coverage.
5. Prepares students for film festivals, manages student entries, and supervises students at local, regional and national festivals.
6. Provides coaching after school and as needed.
7. Maintains and organizes equipment/supplies and trains students on proper utilization methods. Develops and implement policies and procedures for student use of materials and equipment.
8. Participates in arrival/dismissal, playground, and lunchroom supervisory responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
9. Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
10. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. Arranges all field trips and resource visitors for their grade level with Director of Student Services.
2. Assists the Director, Assistant Director, and administrative staff in gathering and compiling information for special reports and curriculum revisions.
3. Sponsors at least one extra-curricular activity for students, including special interest groups, clubs, organizations, class sponsorship, etc., as assigned by the Director.
4. Oversees student television network and provides extracurricular support for covering school events.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Media production skills, including digital editing, sound engineering, lighting, graphic design, broadcast journalism, and studio production.
2. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
3. Ability to articulate technical information to non-technical students and faculty.

Required Certifications/Licensures:  
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required): In field or 12 credits in field
Required Experience: None.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Valid State of Florida Certification Certificate.
2. Master's Degree.
3. One (1) year of successful experience in teaching.
4. Experience in media production, television production, broadcast journalism, or other related fields.
5. Familiarity with (or a willingness to learn) a variety of digital tools.
