Essential Job Functions: | 1. Applies proven writing and communications skills to plan, edit, and deliver thoughtful, effective content for internal and external audiences. 2. Strong writer for a variety of digital and print media content. Familiar with basic web editing to create and build pages within a CMS, to write and help organize and coordinate the production of web content additions and updates for the university’s administrative and internal web pages, collaborating with a wide range of colleagues, managers, faculty and staff, and following NSU protocols set by PR/Marketing and OIIT for web, social and SEO content that advances the institutional brand and creative strategies. 3. Consults with subject matter experts and colleagues to obtain information needed to produce compelling content, testimonials, digital content, communications products, and promotional materials. 4. Writes relevant, useful, and conversational content, ensuring voice and messaging are consistent with the university's brand and writing standards, including understanding of diversity and accessibility communications protocols and considerations. 5. Produces persuasive business or promotional materials such as well-crafted memos, slide decks or Zoom presentations, appealing flyers or e-vites using NSU templates and brand guidelines. 6. Interacts and collaborates with students, faculty, administrators, researchers, alumni and staff to develop relevant and timely stories as part of strategic communications campaigns aimed at designated target audiences and objectives. 7. Participates in the development or implementation of efficient, effective and data-driven communications, web and content management strategies to ensure that content is accurate, timely, relevant and compelling for students, faculty, staff, alumni, prospects, and other web users, target audiences and visitors. 8. Collaborates with NSU PR/Marketing Advertising & Analytics and Web teams to follow best practices for SEO, Web and digital media communications strategies and campaigns. 9. Collaborates with supervisor and colleagues on the establishment of appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reports key metrics for all communications campaigns and tactics. 10. Completes special projects as assigned, particularly those internal communications efforts that promote other presidential strategic priorities or core value themes and initiatives. 11. Performs other duties as assigned or required. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | Knowledge 1. Writing and English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the proper use and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. 2. Communications through Video and Digital Media - Thorough knowledge of video and digital media production, visual, verbal, and interactive communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and persuade via video, digital, and visual media. Strong skills in use of video shooting, photography, use of video editing software. Also, familiar with Zoom, MS Office suite and is competent posting content on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, You Tube, etc. 3. Customer and Personal Service – General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction. 4. Computers and Electronics – General knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. 5. Google analytics and SEO knowledge. Skills: 1. Video editing and CMS web platform experience. 5. Ecomms and Web-based news and/or calendar curation and execution experience. |
