Essential Job Functions: | 1. Processes patient payments and sets up payment plans as needed. 2. Maintains accurate records of transactions and manages accounts receivable for patient accounts. 3. Reviews patient accounts to identify delinquent balances and assess the appropriate collection strategy. 4. Works with patients to establish feasible payment arrangements while adhering to collection policies. 5. Provides patients with information about their financial obligations, including co-pays, deductibles, and payment plans. 6. Verifies patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to services, ensuring accurate billing and patient understanding of financial responsibilities. 7. Contacts patients via phone, email, or mail to follow up on outstanding balances and initiate collection efforts. 8. Communicates with patients regarding credit balances, refund processes, and any necessary follow-up actions. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. 10. Completes special projects as assigned. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | Knowledge: 1. Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel). 2. English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. 3. Customer and Personal Service - General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction. 4. Proficient knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel) and healthcare billing software. 5. Preferred Qualifications: | 1. Experience in a medical or healthcare setting with knowledge of medical billing and coding processes. |
