Essential Job Functions: | 1. Manages a portfolio of individual, foundation, corporate, and government donors. 2. Supports the senior development staff and consultants in the outreach, cultivation, stewardship, and retention of donors. 3. Assists leadership and development team in drafting gift proposals. 4. Conducts prospective donor research and prepares fundraising reports as needed. 5. Oversees the work of development department federal work study students and interns. 6. Supports the development team in the fundraising, planning and execution of donor events. 7. Manages grant application, compliance and reports. a. Write and assist with grant writing and other funding proposals. b. Write and assist with planning, submission and management of all grants and other funding proposals. c. Research potential grant opportunities and make recommendation to supervisor/leadership. d. Create and maintain comprehensive grant files including but not limited to tracking grant opportunities and chart of grant applications. e. Collaborate with staff to collect, analyze and report data related to donors and grants. f. Works to enhance and improve grants management processes. 8. Assists in achieving fundraising annual goals and long-term sustainability planning. 9. Supports development team with tracking donor records and donor data management. 10. Communicates effectively with sponsoring agencies and donors. 11. Prepares journal entries as needed. 12. Assists with reviewing transmittals and journal entries. 13. Assists with recording donor checks as needed. 14. Completes special projects as assigned. 15. Performs other duties as assigned or required. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | Knowledge: 1. General knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel). 2. Advanced knowledge of development strategies. 3. Advanced knowledge of philanthropy, with emphasis on major gifts, grants, sponsorships and foundations. 4. English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. 5. Customer and Personal Service - General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction. Skills: 1.
