Primary Purpose:
Student Academic Support Teacher (SAS) provides instruction that is attentive to individual student's academic, social and emotional needs.
Job Category: Exempt
Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Records and maintains accurate school, classroom and students' information such as attendance, student files, referral information, progress reports, lesson plans, curriculum development, discipline, etc.
2. Attends and participates in departmental/division meetings, planning projects, activities and school related evening and weekend programs.
3. Responsible for the arrangement and storage of materials, equipment and supplies. Observes, reports and takes immediate action to ensure the prevention and elimination of safety hazards throughout the building and grounds. Prepares daily and weekly lesson plans in a manner that is responsive to school's philosophy; share in team or grade level planning.
4. Establishes and maintains a positive learning environment that reflects the school's philosophy.
5. Refers students, when necessary, following school procedures.
6. Communicates with parents and professional staff on a regular basis.
7. Responsible for following curriculum guidelines to include remediating, developing and enriching computer based learning experiences.
8. Integrates technology into the teaching-learning process.
9. Maintains proper discipline and assists student in developing self-discipline and a sense of responsibility. Be consistent.
10. Establishes a humanistic, systematic classroom code of conduct.
11. Participates in arrival/dismissal, playground and lunchroom supervisory responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
Job Requirements:
Required Certifications/Licensures:
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Valid State of Florida Certification Certificate.
2. Master's Degree.
3. One (1) year of successful experience in teaching.
