Hourly

Subject to Grant Funding?: No   Essential Job Functions: 1. Reviews and processes payment requests, expense reports and other related documents to ensure adherence to University policies and accuracy of coding

2. Responds to non-routine inquiries and resolves account discrepancies requiring broad understanding of work-area policies and procedures to ensure questions are answered and discrepancies resolved in a timely manner.

3. Prepares reports and assists with fiscal administration processes, and year end closing to ensure accurate fiscal reporting.

4. Reconciles accuracy of postings against bank statements, Banner and clinical systems to ensure accuracy of deposits.

5. Performs other duties as assigned. Marginal Job Functions: 1. Assists with other budgeting/accounting functions.

2. Performs special projects as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook.

2. 10 Key or numeric data entry skills.

3. Ability to handle a high volume of transactions.

4. Detail oriented.

5. Knowledge of clinical cash payment policies and procedures.

6. Knowledge of patient account policies and practice

7. Knowledge of bank deposit policies and practices.

8. Ability to make mathematical computations.

9. Ability to analyze financial reports.

10. Ability to prepare statistical and narrative accounting reports.

11. Ability to identify and compute ratios and percentages.

12. Ability to maintain effective working relationships.

13. Ability to communicate clearly.

14. Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy.

15. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

16. Ability to maintain a high standard of confidentiality and demonstrate attention to detail.

17. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Ability to communicate effectively with others.

2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.

3. May be exposed to prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.

4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards. Job Requirements:   Required Certifications/Licensures:   Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Major (if required):   Required Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in accounting or related field.

-OR-

Associate's degree in a related field. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Associate's Degree and one (1) year of experience in accounting or related field.

2. Working knowledge of Banner and Ariba.

3. Experience in health care or academic finance environment.

4. Business courses in accounting and finance.
