Primary Purpose:

Supports student engagement and retention by developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and activities that promote student success and strengthen the university community. Actively contributes to the growth and sustainability of undergraduate and graduate student clubs and organizations.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Oversees the registration, development, and success of registered student organizations across main and regional campuses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, ensuring their growth, sustainability, and ongoing support.

2. Manages the daily operations of the Organization and Student Involvement Studio (OASIS) Resource Center, ensuring effective support and resources for student engagement initiatives.

3. Coordinates room reservations, event requests, and work orders for student organizations, while tracking event attendance across both Main and Regional campus locations.

4. Collaborates with student leaders to develop and implement strategies that promote and market the benefits of student organization involvement to the NSU community.

5. Creates and manages student organization recognition programs that showcase outstanding activities, accomplishments, and contributions.

6. Coordinates the design, promotion, and delivery of organizational and leadership development initiatives, including workshops, e-training, and one-on-one consultations; partners with campus offices to provide comprehensive leadership training for student leaders.

7. Serves as a key resource for student group development by coordinating site visits, promoting available services, providing risk management guidance, and more. Develops and delivers ongoing training for organization advisors in undergraduate, graduate and regional organizations.

8. Serves as a Judicial Officer for conduct cases involving members of clubs and organizations

9. Oversees the registration, development, and success of all registered student organizations, ensuring their growth, sustainability, and ongoing support.

10. Evaluates the quality and impact of Campus Life and Student Engagement programs to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with student needs.

11. Ensures compliance with risk management protocols and collaborates with management to address organizational conduct issues appropriately.

12. Provides senior staff coverage/supervision of Campus Life facilities during nights, weekends, and special events; supports the planning and execution of fraternity and sorority life activities and programs.

13. Oversees the use and training of the student organization management system (Engage), ensuring effective and consistent utilization by both students and staff.

14. Designs and implements programs and events that support the educational, cultural, and social development of students; establishes learning outcomes aligned with key objectives for student clubs and organizations.

15. Promotes the creation of new student organizations, nurtures the growth of established groups, and offers resources and support to enhance ongoing student involvement.

16. Provides guidance and support to the student organization board in key programmatic areas, including event production, publicity, budgeting, artist relations, and risk management. Facilitates leadership and skill development for board members in areas such as meeting management, effective communication, team building, and recruitment/retention.

17. Assists in the planning and execution of major NSU traditions such as Weeks of Welcome, Sharkapalooza, and Homecoming; negotiates performance agreements with vendors and artists, and collaborates with university officials to obtain necessary approvals.

18. Oversees and tracks expenditures for assigned office budgets and student organization accounts, ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with institutional policies.

19. Completes special project as assigned.

20. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements:

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 1. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four (4) years of closely related experience.
2. Experience in event planning and program development.


Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Previous experience in designing and facilitating student leadership development programs.
2. Prior experience in higher education.
3. Experience in designing and facilitating student leadership development programs.
5. Experience with Registered Student Organizations (RSOs).
