Primary Purpose:
Provides oversight of student-athlete academic performance and acts as a primary liaison among coaches, academic advisors, Faculty Athletic Representatives, and parents.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Reviews and verifies student-athlete registration to ensure all academic requirements are complete, accurate, and compliant.
2. Ensures departmental compliance with the NCAA and Sunshine State Conference rules and regulations related to academic eligibility, satisfactory progress toward degree, and other academic standards.
3. Oversees student-athlete enrollment and identifies, addresses, and resolves scheduling issues through the university system.
4. Monitors student-athlete academic performance and compliance with NCAA academic standards, including progress-toward-degree and satisfactory progress requirements.
5. Assists with the recruitment process of prospective student-athletes by reviewing and evaluating academic records.
6. Prepares, maintains, and distributes comprehensive academic reports for administrators and coaching staff.
7. Manages and maintains accurate student-athlete academic records within the university’s information systems.
8. Monitors and tracks faculty submitted academic progress reports for student-athletes.
9. Compiles, analyzes, and reports GPA data by sport and for the Athletics Department as a whole.
10. Disseminates information to faculty members regarding team travel schedules and anticipated class absences.
11. Coordinates academic appointments in support of official and unofficial recruiting visits.
12. Develops and manages study hall rosters, coordinates monitor coverage, and tracks student-athlete attendance and compliance.
13. Maintains collaborative relationships with faculty and campus partners to promote student-athlete academic success.
14. Assists in the planning, coordination, and execution of academics and athletics related events to support student-athlete engagement and recognition.
15. Advises the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and leads community engagement and outreach initiatives.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of academic advising principles and best practices in a higher education setting.
2. Knowledge of NCAA compliance requirements, including academic eligibility, initial eligibility, and Academic Success Rate (ASR) standards.
3. Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and its application to student records and confidentiality.
4. Understanding of strategies that support student-athlete development, retention, and academic achievement.
5. Familiarity with academic support services, including tutoring, study hall, learning services, and appropriate referral procedures.
Skills:
1. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
2. High level of attention to detail, demonstrated professionalism, and sound ethical judgment in handling sensitive information.
3. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams, priorities, and deadlines.
4. Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure academic and eligibility related situations.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Abilities:
1. Ability to analyze and interpret academic data to produce reports related to GPA, eligibility, retention, and graduation outcomes.
2. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and compliance with institutional and FERPA guidelines.
3. Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including coaches, faculty, staff, and student athletes, to support academic success.
Physical Requirements:
1. Near Vision: Ability to see and distinguish details at close range (within a few feet), including reading documents and computer screens.
2. Communication: Ability to understand spoken information and communicate clearly and effectively with others.
3. Travel: Occasional daytime and overnight travel may be required.
4. Work Schedule: Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends as operational needs require.
5. Physical Activity: Ability to remain seated and/or standing for extended periods while performing job functions.
6. Equipment Use: Ability to effectively use standard office equipment and supplies, including computers, keyboards, and writing instruments.
Required Certifications/Licensures:
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required:
Required Experience: Minimum two (2) years' experience in related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's degree.
2. Experience in collegiate academic services.
