Primary Purpose:

This position (clinical faculty) will provide psychological evaluation and psychotherapy services to Deaf and hard-of-hearing members of the South Florida community, as well as potentially serve individuals across the country. This clinician will also establish connections within the Deaf community and provide training to the Deaf community as well as to NSU faculty, staff, and students.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Works with the Director of Clinical Services/Chief Psychologist to ensure professional quality of services and optimal PSC operations.

2. Complies with agency policy and procedures, data collection and chart documentation.

3. Provides direct services to clients.

4. Markets DHH program in the community at health fairs and other appropriate venues.

5. Provides crisis clinician coverage for SPACI during clinic hours and assists other faculty clinics as requested.

6. Attends clinic management meetings and coordinators meetings as needed.

7. Attends and participates in staff meetings, compliance-training programs, and scheduled training programs as required.

8. Provides signatures on clinic paperwork and reports.

9. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
1. Near Vision-Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
2. May be required to work nights or weekends.
3. Travel-Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
4. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
5. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, mobile devices, and computer keyboards.

Required Certifications/Licensures: Active Florida License or license eligible

Required Education: Doctoral Degree

Major (if required: Psychology (Clinical, Counseling, or School).

Required Experience: 1. Minimum two (2) years experience in psychological testing experience and intervention.

2. American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency and knowledge of Deaf culture. Some background or experience with the psychological evaluation and interventions with the Deaf and hard-of-hearing.
