Primary Purpose:

The faculty member is responsible for teaching and mentoring student research. Evidence of scholarly productivity is required. A track record of, or potential to secure external funding to support research is desirable. Faculty rank is commensurate with experience and credentials.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Maintains an active research program and develops a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and grant submissions. Area of scholarly expertise is open.
2. Teaches core courses in the neuroscience program. The teaching load is contingent on research productivity.
3. Mentors students in research.
4. Contributes to diversity and inclusivity in research, teaching, and service.
5. Creates an environment that is conducive to learning.
6. Serves and contributes to appropriate department, college, and university committees.
7. Maintains a professional development plan to assure growth and currency within the academic field.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or the Dean.

Required Education: Doctoral Degree

Major (if required: Neuroscience or related field

Required Experience: 1. Record of external funding to support a research program (or evidence of potential to secure external funding).
2. A record of scholarly publications.
3. College and/or university level teaching experience.
