Primary Purpose:

The Housing Assignments Intern will be responsible for supporting processes and procedures related to Housing Assignments.

 

Job Category: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range:  16.50

Pay Basis:  Hourly

Subject to Grant Funding? No  

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Supports processes and procedures related to Residential Management System (RMS/Mercury) in order to support the Assistant Director of Housing Assignments and Assignments Coordinator.

2. Directly assists with roommate request changes that are incoming for the 2025-2026 academic year.

3. Continuously updates and assists with managing the housing vacant space list.

4. Directly assists with managing the housing wait list.

5. Completes special projects as assigned.

6. Performs other housing assignments-related duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Exceptional organizational and administrative abilities.

2. Ability to prioritize and organize work duties.

3. Must be punctual, reliable, and responsible.

4. Ability to function with limited supervision.

5. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

6. Proficient skills in speaking and oral expression in order to communicate with current/prospective NSU students and their parents/family members as needed in regards to housing assignments.

7. Proficient skills in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of NSU students and their families.

8. Proficient skills in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
