Primary Purpose:

Drives strategies which attract new members, annual fund donors, maintains current members and increases annual support, with special focus on the identification and implementation of new marketing initiatives in support of membership.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Manages all aspects of gift administration for all annual giving programs from member and non-member related gifts and pledge commitments from the Museum's Board of Trustees and all pledges from corporations, foundations and individuals.

2. Coordinates the collection, recording and maintenance of all donor related data. Coordinate staff activities related to membership opening events and related programs.

3. Works with Museum Finance Department in the reporting of gifts to ensure accuracy in the reporting and categorization of all gifts and revenue.

4. Manages all gift acknowledgment and general correspondence, database management and maintenance, data analysis, retrieval and reporting.

5. Correspond with prospective donors, manages written confirmation, invoicing, collections and acknowledgement of all pledged gifts from Board of Trustees, individuals, corporations and foundations

6. Assists in the development and implementation of membership drives for the acquisition of new members, the renewal of current members, and the return of dropped or lapsed members.

7. Develops and implements key strategies to grow the membership base and revenue; achieve a high retention rate and upgrades among renewing members.

8. Assists in the strategy, launch and management of key projects in the membership department which includes the development and implementation of marketing communications, e-blasts and emails.

9. Manages and implements all donor acknowledgement efforts including recognition programs, monthly web page updates and museum wall, as required.

10. Refines and maintains tracking systems to collect and analyze data on membership activity.

11. Oversees the preparation of data specific reports of Donor Member gifts, Major Donor gifts to campaigns and special funds, Corporate sponsorship gifts, Government and corporate and private foundation grants and miscellaneous income. Administer the record keeping of donors giving history, membership expiration date and relationship contact of current Donor Members and Major Donors.

12. Manages periodical revisions of Member, Donor and Corporate benefits with the assistance of marketing.

13. Assists the Senior Development staff in drafting the fiscal year membership gift budget.

14. Collects and reports data on general attendance response to program activities as required by grants sources.

15. Manages temporary associates' training needs to ensure continuity of knowledge. Make follow up calls to members on Development/Fundraising activity.

16. Assists with coordinating travel arrangements for all related membership trips for members.

17. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Willingness to become familiar with the distinct cultures of diverse audiences in tri-county area (Dade, Broward and Palm Beach).

2. Understanding of "best practices" of development principles as they pertain to annual giving.

3. Excellent written and verbal skills.

4. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

5. Ability to be an effective contributor to a strong development team.

6. Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and or weekends for all member related events throughout the year.

7. Exhibits high integrity; detail oriented; ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required Certifications/Licensures: Valid Florida driver's license and automobile insurance.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 1. Minimum of one (1) year of successful direct experience in museum and membership or donor program management or the equivalent.

2. Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and Power Point and relational database experience.
