Primary Purpose:
Processes transactions and provides information regarding student health benefits.

Hiring Range: $20.45 per hour/$39,878.00 annually

Essential Job Functions:
1. Provides information to students and responds inquiries relating to Student Health Insurance Benefits to ensure optimal service is provided to students.
2. Processes insurance decision enrollment and waivers to ensure completion of files.
3. Reviews and verifies incoming and outgoing documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
4. Processes, tracks, and maintains records of payments and charges to ensure compliance.
5. Assists with the preparation of summary financial and enrollment reports.
6. Assists with site presentation of the University's student health insurance program to incoming students.
7. Assists with fee assessments relating to Student Health Insurance Benefits.
8. Conducts special projects as assigned.
9. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
2. Exhibits excellent customer service orientation with ability to listen, clarify questions and provide accurate information.
3. Communicates information, both verbal and written, in a cordial and professional tone.
4. Be proactive in anticipating customers' needs for information and services.
5. Ability to set priorities and to manage time effectively.
6. Ability to work as a member of a team and independently.
7. Strong administrative skills, organized, thorough, systems oriented with attention to detail.
8. Ability to maintain confidential information.
9. Ability to work overtime with minimal notice.
10. Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
1. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
2. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards.
Required Certifications/Licensures:
Required Education: Associate's Degree or 60 College credits
Major (if required:
Required Experience: Two (2) years customer service experience, including answering phone calls from customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with NSU software system such as Banner or Form Stack.
