Primary Purpose:
The Academic Content Coordinator will be responsible for developing and packaging content ideas and contributions suitable for social media, Web, and other digital communications channels to enhance brand awareness, engage prospective and current student audiences, and drive traffic to NSU’s website for academic affairs. The Content Coordinator will work closely with the Division of Public Relations, Marketing, and Creative Services (PRMCS) to ensure adherence to professional best-practices for social and digital content, and will create content suitable for multiple platforms, including some guided opportunities to post directly to NSU owned media or social media accounts. The Coordinator will also track and analyze performance metrics, ensuring that messaging aligns with NSU’s mission and presidential goals as well as PRMCS communications strategic priorities and best practices.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Partners with PRMCS team to develop a comprehensive social media strategy for academic affairs that aligns with NSU goals and objectives to support the Provost and Associate Provost and their respective areas.
2. Finds and develops content—and oversees the production process—to implement the social media strategy in partnership with the PRMCS team and as directed by the Provost and Associate Provost.
3. Creates, curates, and schedules engaging content (including posts, stories, videos, graphics, etc.) for various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
4. Coordinates daily social media activities, including content publishing, community management, and responding to comments/messages.
5. Collaborates with the marketing team to ensure social media efforts for the Office of Academic Affairs are integrated with broader campaigns and initiatives.
6. Coordinates the tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as growth, engagement, and website traffic driven from social media.
7. Engages with the online community, fostering relationships, and encouraging user generated content.
8. In partnership with the PRMCS team, supports and coordinates the production of user generated content that aligns with and promotes key messaging themes to be posted organically on high-use channels and feeding in/out of NSU owned social media accounts and digital (Web) platforms.
9. In partnership with the PRMCS team, maintains brand consistency and tone across all social media channels.
10. Assists with collaborations and event promotion through social media to support the Office of Academic Affairs.
11. Completes special projects as assigned.
12. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Writing and English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the proper use and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
2. Writing - Thorough skills in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
3. Communications through Digital Media - Thorough knowledge of media production, visual, verbal, and interactive communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and persuade via written, oral, and visual media. Strong skills in use of Zoom, MS Office suite and is competent posting content on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, You Tube, etc.
4. Customer and Personal Service – General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
5. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
6. Proficiency in social media analytic tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.).
7. Knowledge of design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required:
Required Experience: 1. Six (6) years’ years’ experience in advancement or social media in a higher education setting.
2. Experience as a social media content creator and publisher, or similar role.
