Primary Purpose:

Contributes to student success by monitoring and coordinating the operations of the assigned academic program(s). Acts as liaison with various community entities, internal and external departments, and internal and external customers while providing the most advantageous customer services to students and other constituents.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. The first priority of all members of the Shepard Broad College of Law is to serve the College of Law's clients, the applicants, students, and alumni. Therefore, team members will not be limited by this job description in an effort to assist our clients, but will perform whatever tasks are assigned by the Associate Dean of Administration.
2. Consults with government regulatory and licensing agencies to ensure the institution's conformance with applicable standards.
3. Assists in activities required for program accreditation.
4. Assesses program quality, presents results, and makes recommendations to management.
5. Maintains accurate and complete student records as required by laws, policies, and administrative regulations.
6. Collaborates with faculty and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs and in the preparation of master schedules for curriculum offerings.
7. Determines course schedules, and coordinates teaching assignments and room assignments to ensure optimum use of buildings and equipment.
8. Provides orientation to and resolves issues for program's adjunct faculty.
9. Manages and monitors adjunct contracts.
10. Facilitates preliminary and qualifying exams.
11. Acts as liaison between students, faculty, college and university departments.
12. Directs the planning and execution of orientation for new program students.
13. Coordinates test administration and outcome reporting.
14. Compiles, maintains, analyzes, and prepares reports on data related to activities such as student engagement and retention, academic progress, experiential learning, and/or career success.
15. Counsels’ students regarding educational issues, such as course and program selection, class scheduling and registration. May conduct exit interviews for student withdrawals.
16. Facilitates student grievance and discipline processes.
17. Establishes contracts with employers or institutions to create experiential learning opportunities such as internships, practicums, and/or employment opportunities for students. Monitors contracts and affiliation agreements to ensure compliance.
18. Coordinates the production and dissemination of university publications, such as course catalogs and class schedules.
19. Assists in planning special events and/or Continuing Education functions.
20. Creates and maintains statistical analysis of the efficacy of each online program. Provides relevant data to NSU and accreditors and recommends program changes or additional programs to online degree and non-degree programs based on data.
21. Supervises the teaching and learning process, including training and use of Blackboard or other learning management systems, continuous improvement in teaching materials and instructional design, and engagement by instructors in coursework, student assessment, and course design.
22. Collaborates with other NSU colleges and departments to facilitate growth, dual degree opportunities, and services for students.
23. Completes special projects as assigned.
24. Maintains data integrity and confidentiality.
25. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

Knowledge:
1. Administration and Management - General knowledge of business and
management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation,
budgeting, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and/or
coordination of people and resources.
2. Personnel and Human Resources - General knowledge of principles and
procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and
benefits, and personnel information systems.
3. Customer and Personal Service - Thorough knowledge of principles and
processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs
assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user
satisfaction.
4. English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the
English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of
composition, and grammar.
5. Education and Training - General knowledge of principles and methods for
curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and
groups, and the measurement of training effects.
6. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements:
1. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of
the observer).
2. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of

4. Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
5. May be required to work nights or weekends.
6. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting
and/or standing in performance of job duties.

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: Master's Degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 

1. Seven (7) or more years of experience in academic program management or related student service function in a law or graduate school environment.


2. Previous experience in counseling and education services.


3. Previous experience in decision making, managing, and organizing.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

J.D. preferred
